What to Expect

WHAT TO EXPECT AT FRIENDSHIP CHURCH

Thank you for visiting our website. Please enjoy your time here, click around to learn more about our ministries and what we believe, read through the Frequently Asked Questions below, listen to a message or two from Pastor Mike on Facebook Live, and let us know if you have any further questions.

When you are visiting any church for the first time, the unknown factors can make you a little nervous. We do not want unanswered questions to cause you needless anxiety, so we have attempted to provide answers to some common questions such as: Where do I go? What time do I show up? What’s here for my kids? What do I wear? What can I expect?

We want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Friendship Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. Most of all, we want you to experience the presence of God. We want you feel the love of God and hear the Word of God! You may find the following information to be helpful as you plan for your visit.

WHERE DO I GO?

When you arrive on the property there will be someone to greet you at the main entrance of the church building to assist you with any directions you may need.

WHAT TIME DO I SHOW UP?

Small Group Bible Study starts at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings with classes for all ages. The Sunday Celebration Worship Service begins at 10:30am in the worship center. You may choose to have your children remain with you for the entire worship service or we also have a nursery available for infants through 3 years of age.

If you cannot attend on Sundays, Midweek Worship happens on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.

WHAT’S HERE FOR MY KIDS?

We have a Children’s Ministry that meets at 9:30am on Sundays and 6:30pm on Wednesdays. Nursery for birth through 3 years is provided for each worship service led by volunteers who are the best and most experienced you will find. You can rest assured that your children will be loved and taken care of in a safe, secure, and exciting environment designed just for them, all while learning about Jesus! More information is available under ministries.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR TEENS?

Our student ministry meets every Sunday morning at 9:30am and every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. We have a dynamic Youth Ministry worship service for students in the 7th – 12th grades. More information is available under ministries.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

There is not a strict dress code at Friendship Church for our members or guests. We are more concerned that you find Friendship to be a place where your life needs can be met through Jesus Christ. We don’t focus on what people wear or don’t wear. Please dress comfortably and respectful. You will see all types - dressed up, casual and very casual. All are welcome.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THE WORSHIP SERVICE?

Welcome Center coffee

At Friendship Church, we have a coffee shop located in the main lobby, offering free drip coffee and juice. Feel free to stop by before the service to pick up a coffee and connect, catch up with old friends, and meet new people!

Great praise and worship songs

Worship at Friendship is a dynamic experience that ushers in the Holy Spirit, exalts the Name of Jesus and draws hearts and lives to Him.  Our worship is spirit-filled, engaging music that honors the Lord and draws people to know Him and love Him. You will find us lifting our hands, clapping, or quietly “soaking” in God’s presence. It’s all about glorifying God in whatever way that honors Him.

We are excited to use our anointed time of praise and worship as an avenue to worship God. We want everyone who comes through the door to experience the life changing power of worship through the Word of God and music.

Prayer

We are a church that believes in prayer. We pray as we begin the service and have a response time at the end of the service. We conclude every Sunday with a prayer meeting on Zoom at 6pm.

Preaching

Every weekend at Friendship Church you will hear a relevant, dynamic, straight-forward message based on the Bible that is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We challenge people to apply God’s Word by providing a weekly worship outline for those who desire to take notes.

Invitation

At the end of the preaching, Pastor Mike will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Savior or to rededicate your life to Christ. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to come forward with others that will make decisions.

If you would like someone to pray for you or would like to make your decision public, men and women from our counseling team will be available to pray with you and help you at the altar.

Offering

As part of our weekly services we do take up an offering in the lobby. If you are a guest, please do not feel any pressure or obligation to give. This is an act of worship and obedience for our regular attenders, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work He is doing in their lives and to give back to help continue the life-changing work of the church.
